1. Purpose

Purpose of the SupaLeague is to promote Amateur Hobby Dance Sport.

2. Conditions of participation

A partnership consists of male and female. One partner must be at least 16 years of age.

SupaLeague Hobby Class and Rising Star

1. • Non-licensed hobby couples
   

2. • Hobby Team Match couples
   

3. • former licensed D couples
   

SupaLeague Sport Class

1. • all other competitors
   

2. • former licensed C-S couples
   

3. Types of competitions

1. • SupaLeague Hobby : Ballroom and Latin  (3 dances Ballroom and/or 3 dances Latin) 
   

2. • SupaLeague Hobby Rising Star: Ballroom and Latin  (4 dances Ballroom and/or 4 dances Latin) 
   

3. • SupaLeague Sport: Ballroom and Latin  (5 dances Ballroom and/or 5 dances Latin) 
   

4. Grades

SupaLeague Hobby Class and Rising Star

1. • Non-licensed hobby couples
   

2. • Hobby Team Match couples
   

3. • former licensed D couples
   

SupaLeague Sport Class

1. • all other competitors
   

2. • former licensed C-S couples
   

5. Age categories

1. • Amateur: 16 - 35 yrs.
   

2. • Seniors: 35+ yrs. (Different age groups will be formed upon entries)
   

In case of not enough applications in age groups, the chairman is allowed to combine several age groups.

6. Dress code

SupaLeague Hobby

Recommended for Ladies: Skirt with shirt or blouse, practice wear

Recommended for Gentlemen: Dark trousers, long-sleeved shirt, tie (optional).

SupaLeague Rising Stars

Same as SupaLeague Hobby, or competition dress and tail suit.

SupaLeague Sport

Same as SupaLeague Hobby, or competition dress and tail suit.

7. Syllabus

No restrictions, except acrobatics and lifts are not allowed due to safety reasons.

For SupaLeague Hobby, the basic syllabus is recommended and will be judged.

8. Judges

At least 3 Professionals are required to judge.

9. 9.Marking system
   

Judges will give grades (1, 3, or 5) to all couples in all rounds except in the final. 1 is best, 5 is lowest. For the final the majority system will be used.

10. Order of rounds

A competition consists of first rounds, re-dance (optional), semi final and final (option: A+B Final). Between 1/3 and 2/3 of the participating couples will be qualified for the next round.

All couples dance at least twice!

Positions 1-3 of the Hobby Class may participate in the Sport Class as well (optional).

(A look round may be introduced in the future if there are more grades).

11. Competition dances

SupaLeague Hobby

Latin: Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive

Ballroom: Waltz, Tango, Quickstep

SupaLeague Hobby Rising Star

Latin: Samba,Cha  Cha, Rumba, Jive

Ballroom: Waltz, Tango Viennese Waltz, Quickstep

SupaLeague Sport

Latin: Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive

Ballroom: Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Foxtrot, Quickstep

12. Duration of dances

Music will be played a minimum of 1.5 minutes.
